Attach & Charge
Snap PETL™ to the back of your iPhone—charging begins instantly. Be sure to attach the side with the wireless charging icon facing the phone. PETL will automatically align with your iPhone's MagSafe for a secure and seamless connection.
Recharging PETL
Plug a USB-C cable into PETL™ to recharge. It can remain attached to your iPhone while charging.
Note: USB-C cable is not included in the box to reduce electronic waste. Since it uses a universal standard, we've chosen not to include a cable in the package.
Nightstand Mode
When PETL™ is charging and your iPhone is placed in landscape orientation, Nightstand Mode activates automatically.
Note: for Nightstand Mode to function, PETL must be plugged into a power source via a USB-C cable. If Nightstand Mode doesn't turn on, refer to the "Troubleshoot Nightstand Mode" section in this user guide.

Use any USB-C cable with a 5V/2A adapter. PETL™ can stay magnetically attached to your iPhone while recharging.
How to Check PETL™ Battery Life
You can check the battery level of PETL™ in two ways: directly on the device using LED indicators, or via your iPhone using the Battery Widget.
On PETL
Press the power button once. The number of illuminated LED lights indicates the current charge level.
- 4 LEDs: 75–100%
- 3 LEDs: 50–75%
- 2 LEDs: 25–50%
- 1 LED: Low battery
On iPhone (via Battery Widget):
When PETL™ is attached via MagSafe, its battery status appears below the iPhone battery icon as part of the MagSafe animation.
To monitor PETL™ in real time:
- Press and hold your Home Screen until apps jiggle
- Tap edit button (top left)
- Select Add Widget
- Search for Batteries
- Add the widget to your Home Screen or Today View
- Once PETL™ is connected, its battery level will be displayed alongside other devices

Yes — PETL™ can charge through most MagSafe-compatible cases and thin, non-metallic cases.
To ensure proper magnetic alignment and charging performance:
- Use Apple-certified MagSafe cases or third-party cases labeled as MagSafe-compatible.
- Avoid thick, rugged, or wallet-style cases, as they may weaken magnetic connection or interfere with wireless charging.
- PETL™ uses Qi2 magnetic wireless charging, which requires the phone to be properly aligned with the charging surface.
Tip: If you're unsure whether your case supports wireless charging, try removing the case and testing PETL™ directly on your iPhone.

How does the iPhone Battery Widget work on PETL™?
Track PETL™ Battery with the iPhone Widget
The iPhone Battery Widget displays real-time battery levels for your iPhone and connected devices like PETL™. When PETL™ is attached via MagSafe, its battery percentage will automatically appear in the widget.
Step 1:
Go to your Home Screen and press and hold any empty space until the apps start jiggling.
Tap the "Edit" icon in the top-left corner of the screen. Then tap the "Add Widget"
Step 2:
In the widget search bar, type "Batteries" and select the Batteries Widget.
Step 3:
Choose the layout you prefer (small, medium, or large). Tap "Add Widget" and place it anywhere on your Home Screen or Today View. Tap "Done" in the top-right corner to save the widget.
Step 4:
Once PETL™ is connected to your iPhone via MagSafe, its battery status will automatically show in the widget below your iPhone's battery indicator.
Why isn't Nightstand Mode turning on when I place my iPhone on PETL™?
Make the most of StandBy by setting it up correctly.
Nightstand Mode (also known as StandBy Mode) requires your iPhone to be in landscape orientation and continuously charging. PETL™ can activate it—if connected to external power via USB-C. Charging solely from PETL's internal battery may not provide the consistent current needed to trigger the mode.
To ensure Nightstand Mode works properly:
- Connect PETL™ to Power: Plug PETL™ into a power source using a USB-C cable. Nightstand Mode requires uninterrupted power—wireless charging from PETL's internal battery alone may not be sufficient to trigger it consistently.
- Position Your iPhone Properly: Place your iPhone in landscape mode, resting steadily (not handheld or tilted). A flat surface or stand works best.
- Enable StandBy in Settings.
- Turn Off Low Power Mode (if active): Once everything is correctly set up, your iPhone should automatically enter Nightstand Mode while charging on PETL™.
